It provides instruction on the characteristics, appearance, strengths and weaknesses of the Zero. The film stars Ronald Reagan as P40 pilot Lieutenant Colonel Saunders. It demonstrates fuselage recognition of the Zero, comparing it to a "big cigar". Two soldiers discuss the characteristics of the aircraft and the danger of mistaking its identity in the field. Also discussed are attack strategies and hunting strategies. A pilot on sortie spots a plane, mistakes it for a Zero and shoots. He gets chewed out during the debriefing. The film warns: "Know your enemy but also know your friends". The film reviews the plane's characteristics. It warns that your life depends on recognition of the Zero and "know it so you can destroy it".
