Comedy starring Harold Lloyd. He rushes to catch a train that will take him to his suburban home and his wife. He collides with passersby as he rushes to the station. He lines up to get his ticket. He leaves the line-up to get a light for his cigarette. When he gets back he has lost his place. After being pushed to the back of the line-up several times, he manages to get his ticket and only just gets on the train. The train departs from the station. His wife is waiting for him when he arrives at his house. While wailing for supper, he decides to do a bit of gardening. Once in his garden he decides to see his next door neighbour who is trying to make a chicken coop. Harold decides to go and give him a hand. He shows the neighbour how to bang some nails into the lumber. At the same time he manages to nail his neighbour's coat to the wood. The neighbour bends down to pick something up for Harold, and pulls the whole coop down with him. The neighbour's wife comes out and tells Harold off. This starts off a chain of unfortunate incidents. Harold steps on the neighbour's clean washing. His dog upsets a basket. The chickens take off, chased by Harold and the neighbour. Harold's garden gets ruined in the process. He chases the neighbours off his property. A postman delivers a parcel to the neighbour's house. The parcel contains a fancy feathered hat. Neighbours admire the hat. Pan to Harold and his wife trying to straighten their garden. The postman delivers a letter to them. Harold's wife, with water hose in hand, turns to thank the mail carrier and at the same time she accidentally manages to spray water all over the neighbour and her new hat, then on her husband and the postman. The neighbours are furious. Harold decides to practise on his trombone, in the house. His wife chases him out onto the porch. When the neighbour hears the trombone noise, he comes out and throws something at Harold, who in turn throws a watering can at the neighbour. The watering can lands on the screen door. Harold and the neighbour advance towards one another until they reach the fence that separates their properties. They start throwing punches at each other over the fence but they are interrupted by a little boy who tells them that there is a little baby out in the middle of the road, holding up traffic. Harold, his wife and the neighbours rush out to rescue the baby. Harold rescues the little girl from being run over by a car. They all make friends again.
