She tries to immerse herself in caring for her three children but strange, disturbing occurrences keep disrupting her safe haven. To pay off some debts, Kathy rents out the cottage previously used for Jeremy's medical practice, to a lovable French engineer, Marc Larieu. Although she feels attracted to her new tenant, Kathy's memories of her life with Jeremy sharpen and mysterious signs multiply around her, causing her to feel she is going insane.
