This series comprises the writings and research for a variety of mostly short projects in history, theatre, and fiction, and research for her personal interest in philosophy. The most extensive material is her research and writing for a biography or play based on the life of explorer and fur trader David Thompson. Williams began her research on Thompson while living in England in the 1930s, and she kept detailed notes on his life and made some tentative chapter outlines or drafts. There is also extensive research and script drafts for a stage play titled "The Battle of the Plains of Abraham". A manuscript of a short story titled "The Legend of Castle Mountain" includes a note that it was published in Collier's Magazine, an American weekly. Some of her writing is playful, like the story "To The New Dog", and there also essays on history and even new national anthems. There is also a curious play titled, "The People Vs. Claus", which puts Santa Claus, seemingly representing Germany, on trial. It is uncertain how much, if any, of this material was ever published though her letters suggest she did public readings of some of her works of fiction. The series also includes notes and writings on philosophy and metaphysics, revealing her growing interest in spiritualism.
