Black and white film footage taken by Harry Lewis, employee of the Yukon Consolidated Gold Corporation (YCGC), a gold mining company. Film footage was taken between 1932 and 1935 and includes shots of: the Klondike; the Klondike River; Moosehide, a First Nations village three miles north of Dawson; the Anglican Church in Moosehide; St. Mary's Hospital and Administration Building in Dawson; Dawson school, built in 1901; the north end of town; St. Paul's, the Anglican Church in Dawson; and the first snow of the year.~Also included is footage taken by Lewis en route to Shriber, Ontario to be married. Included are shots of White Pass Railway; an old church at Lake Bennett; stuck in the snow en route; a snow blower at Bennett Lake; a shots of a train trestle taken from the end of the train.~Follows with footage filmed in 1935, after the Lewis' return north to Dawson. Included are shots of the Klondike; a dog team on the front street of Dawson; Solomon Albert, a man who used bear claws as feet after his feet were amputated due to frostbite; the Yukon River; a Cat carrying a load of wood to Dawson over the river road; a load of hay; a convoy of trucks being taken by Cat down the river; a Cat, circa 1934-35, travelling between Dawson and Whitehorse on the winter trail, carrying mail and passengers who kept warm with buffalo robes and hand-warmers; Frank Ray, trapper and prospector, preparing his dog team for travel; loading freight and mail on to Percy de Wolfe's launch as he prepares to go down to Fort Yukon and the points in Alaska along the lower river; ice forming in the Fall; a plane landing on the river at Dawson; the launch at the Dawson Ferry Dock; Percy de Wolfe with his launch preparing to go down river; Ed Hickey; de-icing the wings of a plane and heating the engine prior to take-off at Reeves Airway; and Harry Lewis in snowshoes with camera in hand.
