A television special on the career of Daniel Johnson, Premier of Quebec, on the occassion of his death. Opens with a Canadian flag flying at half mast and clips of Johnson discussing his childhood, family, education, language and religion. Larry Stout reports on the circumstances of Johnson's death. Ron Collister reports from Ottawa, on the reaction of the federal government, including a clip of Pierre Elliott Trudeau's statement. John Robarts is then interviewed on his friendship with Johnson and the projects they had worked on. Peter Daniels, in Quebec City, interviews Jean-Louis Tremblay, Quebec Minister of Cultural Affairs, about his reaction on hearing the news and the future of Quebec. Stout and Collister also question Tremblay about a proposed successor for Johnson.
