Television report on the case of Wilbert Coffin, hanged for murder in Gaspé, Quebec in February 1956. Coffin's trial and subsequent appeals are reviewed as host Frank Willis examines the debate still raging over Coffin's guilt or innocence. The circumstantial evidence which brought Coffin to trial for the deaths of three Americans, Eugene Lindsay, his son Richard and friend Fred Klass, is discussed by several people still convinced of his innocence. Those interviewed include: J.E. Belliveau, journalist; Francois Gravel, Coffin's lawyer; defence attorney, Raymond Maher; Jacques Hébert, author of "Coffin était innocent"; Arthur Maloney, QC and MP; Coffin's mother; Marion Petrie, Coffin's common-law wife; and Coffin's priest. <60mn>
