A radio play adapted from the work of Rex Stout by Ron Hartmann.~Nero Wolfe is retained by Bess Huddleston because she is being blackmailed by someone on her staff. Huddleston's suspicions centre on Janet Nichol and Maryella Timms. Before Wolfe finds the culprit, Huddleston cuts her foot, develops tetanus, and dies. Wolfe believes she was murdered by iodine laced with tetanus bacilli. An attempt is then made on the life of Janet Nichol. A piece of glass was placed in Nichol's bath brush and her iodine tainted with bacilli. Wolfe and his associate Archie Goodwin expose Nichol as the killer. She killed Huddleston and then staged an attempt on her own life to divert attention.
