Kirby (Jack Curtis) murders a man in self-defence and becomes a fugitive from the North-West Mounted Police, especially Constable Richard Selwyn (Joe King). Kirby escapes to the USA where he meets a 14-year-old orphan, Margy (Pauline Starke), who is running away from the family which ill treats her. Kirby tells her that every year he returns to his home in Canada to see his young son and Margy promises to keep this secret. Margy is taken away to the Mountie post where she wins the love and affection of everyone. The years pass and Margy becomes a woman. Richard Selwyn falls in love with her. One day she accidentally tells him Kirby's secret and Selwyn rides away to capture the man. But Kirby surrenders and Selwyn turns over papers to him which will help him prove self-defence.
