Please note that these badges and ephemera were transferred to the National Medal Collection holdings along with 11 other items in 1973, and were likely isolated in this accession due to the similarity of their subject matter. The remaining non-army objects were only later accessioned as part of the large 1986-079 X PIC retrospective accession, thus losing the custodial history of the whole lot. Please see the accession file for related documentation, and please note that the title originally given to this accession, "Canada. Department of National Defence", has been modified to reflect recent findings that revealed a provenance originating with the Fitness and Amateur Sport Directorate.
