Three paintings, the first being a "View of Charlottetown, ca. 1850" showing the Apothecaries Hall and Market House with St. Paul's Church and the Legislative Building in the distance, copied after a watercolour by Fanny Bayfield; the second being a view of an old spruce grove growing on the site of Fort Amherst; the third being a view of the "River at Pinette" showing the old ship-building yards. Works by O.C. Craswell, one of which is copied after Fanny Bayfield. The first work was formerly attributed to Unknown Artist 144 (view of Charlottetown); the Site of French Fort was unlocated as of March 22, 1951, but may be in fact the work listed as "Landscape with Pine Trees" attributed to Unknown Artist 27 (C-000085), which is the same size and fits the written description; while the third work cannot be positively identified. The work has not been located as of February 1997..
These works were not accessioned when they came into the Archives in 1923. They are mentioned in RG 37 "C" Series records, file Volume 336, file 1922 Misc. Correspondence, and in file 1923-127 which concludes the purchase..
The correspondence included a written description of each painting by Judge Warburton, copies of which are now in the artist's file, and the accession file..
