Jackson, longtime president of the United Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers union (UE), who assesses the current (1980) trade union movement in Canada. Jackson speaks about the lack of loyalty and unity among trade unionists of the younger generation and the general assault against unions by the government and multinational businesses. He also mentions a political shift to the right and the internal problems in the CLC and CIO. On side two of the original recording, Jackson talks about his 42 years in the trade union movement and his accomplishments.
