This acquisition relates to the Dale family of St. Mary's, Ontario and the Ryckman family of Kingston and Cornwall, Ontario, and also includes material from, and concerning, Frederica and Frances Dale, Rhena Hendrick Robson, William Tytler and Beverly Robinson.

Frances Dale, one of two daughters of Professor William Dale - a Latin professor at the University of Toronto whose dismissal sparked a mass strike of 700 angry students, including William Lyon Mackenzie King, from the Class of 1895, and his wife Frederica (ne Ryckman) who was the sister of Edmund Baird Ryckman (1866-1934), minister of National Revenue (1930-1933).

Rhena Kendrick Robson was the wife of Donald Oakley Robson (1905-1976), a Professor of Latin at Victoria College, and to Chairman of the Department of Classics there from1960-71.

William Tytler married Martha Harrison, July 1879 in St. Marys. By 1901 he was an inspector of Guelph public schools. They had a son, Dr. William Howard Tytler who was a Tuberculosis Consultant of the United Nations World Health Organization.

Mezzo-soprano, Augusta Beverly Robinson (b. 12 Feb 1859, d. 9 Sept 1935), was the granddaughter of Sir John Beverley Robinson, was chief justice of Upper Canada. After studying in New York, Paris, and London, she began her career in England in the 1890's and quickly established herself as an admired exponent of the sentimental ballads. She then confined her appearances to Canada, retiring in 1898, after her marriage to Stewart Field Houston, the manager of Massey Hall, as well as the Canadian tours of many leading artists of that time.
