photographic material Events, activities, places, units, individuals and groups associated with the career of Air Vice Marshal Kenneth MacGregor Guthrie (1900-1993) as an officer of the Royal Flying Corps 1917-1918, the Royal Air Force 1918-1919, the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps 1919-1920, the Canadian Air Board 1920-1923, the Canadian Air Force 1923-1924, the Royal Canadian Air Force 1924-1949 (Senior Staff Officer, Eastern Air Command 1939-1942; Deputy Member of the Air Staff for Plans, RCAF Headquarters, 1942-1944; Air Officer Commanding No. 2 Air Command 1944-1947; A.O.C. North West Air Command 1947-1949), and with his membership 1949-1993 in such organizations as the World Veterans' Federation and the World War One Flyers.
art material Cartoons in various media collected by or sent to K.M. Guthrie and most pertaining to his career, to Canadian military life in general and to pre-Second World War German and Italian aggression, British foreign policy and war preparedness. Many of the cartoons appear on greeting cards, several sent by the Militia and Air Force Intelligence Section, Dept. of National Defence, Ottawa, most, however, are newspaper clippings. Of particular interest are humorous emblems for the Air-Sea Rescue Service and for the No. 122 (Composite) Squadron, R.C.A.F.. works by R. Goldie, "Bert," J. Prockin, Len Norris, Al Beaton, Ray Tracy, "eck" and several unidentified artists.
