This album, comprised of 81 pages on which 343 photographs are mounted, is a visual representation of L.T. Burwash's 1927 investigation of the east coasts of Hudson and James Bay, as per instructions from the Director of the N.W.T. and Yukon Branch of the Department of the Interior. "The Eskimo, Their Country and its Resources" by Burwash should be read as accompanying material, as it gives a diary account of the expedition. Photos by L.T. Subject matter of the album includes: travelling on the "Fort Churchill" and "Fort George" to Whale River, Richmond Gulf, Belcher Islands, and Cape Jones, among other places, to observe the way life is lived by the Natives and/or Inuit there. There are many portraits of Inuit in the album, as well as documentation of their summer homes, their clothing, and their daily activities. Hudson's Bay Company and Reveillon Freres trading posts are also prominent in the album. Finally, there are photographs of the Smoky Falls power development.
