British troops with a band and mounted officers march in France. Soldiers and stretcher bearers cross a battlefield. Ammunition boxes are moved through the trenches. Various regiments, including turbaned troops, on the march. Winter scenes of troops in snowy trenches. A wounded German prisoner receives water at a casualty clearing station. Artillery is fired. A British cyclist patrol is greeted by the population of a newly liberated village. Five or six huge mines explode together. Soldiers and the wounded return from the battlefield. The dead in the trenches are shown. German prisoners are hearded back. Soldiers in the trenches. ANZACs lay down another barrage. Gas masked soldiers advance through fumes. German prisoners on the march. A cavalry detachment on the move. The German high command, with Kaiser Wilhelm, reviews the troops.
