Sub-sub-series consists of meeting minutes and background documents from the Subcommittee on Risk Estimates. Included are the meeting minutes from the 7th to 16th meetings (1982-1988), as well as background documents for the 10th, 13th, 14th and 16th meetings. These textual materials are in box 45 of the linked accession.

Canada. Atomic Energy Control Board. Subcommittee on Risk Estimates : The Subcommittee on Risk Estimates (SCRE) was created to assist the ACRP in advising the AECB on estimates of risk to health of an individual and the population due to risk exposure. The work of the subcommittee entailed assisting the parent committee by re-examining the risk estimates in those situations where, because of evidence, or new challenges to current estimates, such a re-examination appears justified. The subcommittee also examined, in the Canadian context, the risk estimates used by other national or international bodies, particularly where changes are being proposed. It also provided advice on quantitative aspects of the risk to the health of individuals or the populations at large due to exposure to ionizing radiation. The subcommittee, on its own initiative, could offer advice on any matter within its scope. Members of the subcommittee were appointed by the Board on consultation with other members of the subcommittee and the parent committee. No member of the Board could be a member of the subcommittee.
