Fonds consists of sound recordings including a message of thanks by Sir Henry Morton Stanley, explorer and journalist in London, in honour of the Emin Pasha relief expedition, 13 May 1890; Royal message and speech by Earl of Bessborough, Governor General of Canada, and pats of speeches by R.B. Bennett, Prime Minister of Canada, and Stanley Baldwin, Prime Minister of Great Britain, at the opening of the Imperial Economic Conference in Ottawa, 21 July 1932. Also included is the documentary entitled 50 Years of broadcasting, produced by the BBC, 1972; and a radio program entitled Science survey, with talks on scientific topics, produced by the BBC, 1971.

Fonds also includes a documentary film on the impact of automation on our society. Entitled Now the chips are down, the made for television film outlines the risks of run by nations that do not keep abreast of developments in computer sciences and techniques, 1979. Also included are episodes from the television series RCMP, each episode a dramatic fiction short based on actual RCMP cases.

Fonds also consists of the documentary films THE GREATEST GAMBLE and HOT TO HANDLE : THE TWO FACES OF RADIATION.

British Broadcasting Corporation : The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) was originally founded as a company by John Reith in 1922. His intent was to establish an independent British broadcaster free from political interference and commercial pressure, that would provide education, information and entertainment to the United Kingdom. In 1927 the company received its first Royal Charter and thereafter became known as the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC). In 1936 the BBC's Television Service was established in North London. Many years later, after several moves and format changes, the BBC brought together all its commercial activities under a single organization in the late 1980s, called BBC Enterprises Ltd. Today, the BBC is a world leader in programme production.
