This episode of "Nightfall" is set in Quebec City at the site of the bridge spanning the St. Lawrence River where in 1907, 70 workmen were killed when the bridge collapsed during its construction due to someone's negligence. Philip Creighton is hired by the Quebec City Museum to recover a chest believed to contain the wages of the many construction workers and now lies buried amidst the sunken wreckage and several corpses which were never recovered. Philip ignores the warning from the priest not to dive at that "evil place" and becomes another victim of the spirits of the dead workmen who still seek revenge for their untimely deaths.
