Anchor Noelle Richardson talks to CBC reporter Eric Rankin and Mohawk representative Ellen Gabriel. This is followed by a lengthy replay of unedited videotape footage, with wild sound only, from Oka, there are also clips of a news conference by Gerry Pelletier, a Mohawk negotiator and an interview of Mohawk Chief Francis Jacob, scenes of tanks on the Mercier Bridge and a scuffle at the barricades at Châteauguay. There are script-only reports of reaction in the rest of Canada to the day's events at Oka and Chaâteauguay. Next is news of the invasion of Kuwait, a report by NBC news on a meeting between George Bush and Mikhail Gorbachev to discuss the Iraq invasion of Kuwait, and sports scores. After a commercial break, Newsworld presents more unedited footage from Oka, in which reporters and cameramen can be heard giving instructions to one another. Soldiers and Mohawks are also heard.
