Grand Trunk Pacific Branch Lines Company : The Grand Trunk Pacific Branch Lines Company was incorporated on 13 July 1906 in order to construct branch lines to serve the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway. A total of thirty-nine branches whose combined length was over 8,000 miles were authorized to be constructed in various locations. Only nine of these branches totalling 988.30 miles were actually constructed in Alberta and Saskatchewan between 1911 and 1917. These lines were all included in the Grand Trunk Pacific system when it passed into Government receivership in 1919. The Grand Trunk Pacific Branch Lines Company officially ceased to exist on 11 June 1956 when it amalgamated with and took the name of the Canadian National Railway Company. RG30 General Inventory
