Sub-series consists of records created and maintained by the Toronto and Guelph Railway Company. The records include stock records, 1852-1855, and fiscal records, 1851-1853.

Architectural drawings consist of plans of the railway station grounds and engine house at Guelph and the railway station, engine house, freight warehouse and flag station at Toronto, dated 1855.

Toronto and Guelph Railway Company : In 1848 the Toronto and Goderich Railway Company was incorporated (10-11 Vic., Cap. 123) to build a railway from Toronto to Goderich via Guelph. Three years later the Toronto and Guelph Railway Company was incorporated (14-15 Vic., Cap. 148) to build a railway from Toronto to Guelph. Subscribers or shareholders in the Toronto and Goderich Railway Company were granted the right to transfer their subscriptions to the Toronto and Guelph Railway Company. The company had been incorporated with a view to becoming part of the Grand Trunk "Main Line" and even before the 1856 completion of the Toronto-Guelph line the Toronto and Guelph Railway Company amalgamated with five other Companies under the name the Grand Trunk Railway Company of Canada, on 1 July 1853.
