Accession consists of records related to the Task Force on Competitiveness in the Agri-Food Industry, which was created by the Minister of Agriculture in 1989. The Task Force's mandate was to review policies and issues related to competitiveness, as part of an overall departmental review of agriculture policy. The Task Force consisted of representatives from academia, producers, processors, retailers, distributors, exporters, consumers and the provincial and federal governments. It issued its final report in June 1990. The Accession also contains one small file related to the Poultry Task Force, which formed a small component of the above-mentioned Task Force.
