Sub-series consists of personal documents and other papers relating to the Venerable James Hunter and his family. It comprises: a licence and faculty, 17 June 1805, for the marriage of John Burt of Stonystratford, Bucks, and Susanna Holebrook of Towcester, Northamptonshire (vol. 3, file 63); probate, 19 Februay 1847, of the will, 23 July 1842, of Christina Cecilia Drusina (d. 3 Feb. 1847), formerly of Stoke Mornington and late of West Hackney, Middlesex (vol. 3, file 64); an oiled cloth folder containing printed copies of six commonly used prayers from the "Book of Common Prayer" and three other items, consisting of personal memoranda relating to James Hunter, his wives and children (vol. 3, file 65-66); three masonic items (a farewell address to Hunter, 15 May 1865, a farewell speech to Hunter, May 1865, and a certificate, 24 June 1865), vol. 3, file 67; a [masonic?] medal in a ceramic setting and chamois case (stored separately); a printed booklet, "Sketches of the Literary History of Barnstaple", by John Roberts Chanter, June 1866 (vol. 4, file 69); five documents relating to Grave No. 15174 in the Highgate Cemetery of St. James, belonging to Archdeacon James Hunter and, later, to his son, the Reverend Charles B.R. Hunter, as well as four documents relating to grave No. 229B in the Parish of Barnstaple, Devon, belonging to Archdeacon Hunter (vol. 4, files 70-71); an itinerary of a trip, 10 August-2 September [?1846, 1857, 1863, 1868, 1874, 1885, 1891, 1896, 1903, 1908, 1914?], from England to Aix-la-Chapelle and back via Frankfurt, Nuremberg, Prague, Vienna, Saltsburg, Innsbruck, the Tyrol, Turin, Zurich, Strasburg (vol. 4, file 72); an undated note from W.H. Fisher, Winthorpe House, to R.H. Young, Esq. (vol. 4, file 73); and an undated poem, "The Old Year's Gone" (vol. 4, file 74).
