Fonds consists of three diaries, with irregular entries, that describe Private Robert Walter Rigsby's training in Canada and England and his experiences at the front in France in 1918, 1916-1918, 1.5 cm; correspondence and related documents pertaining to R.W. Rigsby's military service, clippings, two sets of physical training exercises and programmes for Victory Sunday and for the Triumphal March of the Dominion Troops through London, 1916-1919, 1 cm; a scrapbook entitled, "Ships That Pass In the Fight", consisting of clippings devoted to World War I naval vessels and battles, and six postcards from Ted Rigsby to his family, assembled by Reverend Walter Rigsby whose son Ted Rigsby served on H.M.S.Inconstant n.d., 2.5 cm. The fonds also contains photographs of WWI naval vessels and vessels in Canadian waters, ca. 1914-1919.

Rigsby, Robert Walter (family) : Robert Walter Rigsby (1894-1965) joined the Canadian armed forces in 1916. After spending a year in England, he served in France during the spring of 1918 with the 47th Battalion.

Edward (Ted) M. Rigsby, the brother of Robert Rigsby and the son of Reverend Walter Rigsby, was living in the United Sates when war was declared. He joined the Royal Navy in 1914 and served on H.M.S. Inconstant as an engine room artificer.
