Fonds consists of manuscript material including various manuscripts and operatic dramas written by L.C. Servos, n.d., 1920-1962; general material including newspaper clippings, miscellaneous items, some correspondence and a diary, n.d., 1878-1962; personal correspondence including two letters from W.L. Mackenzie King, and genealogical material, n.d., 1847-1963.

The fonds also contains photographs of L.C. Servos, Toronto, Ont., ca. 1949-1959.

Servos, Launcelot Cressy, 1879-1973 : Launcelot Cressy Servos has been known as a writer, a golfer and an antiquarian. In 1898, he laid out and constructed the first golf course of Miami, Fla. He wrote a syndicated column on golf for various newspapers and, in the 1930s, was acknowledged as the leading Canadian authority on golf. Servos also authored several books and dramatic operas, and he owned the original manuscript of the "Golden Dog" written by William Kirby.

Servos was born 28 October 1879 and died 11 May 1973 in Toronto. He is buried at St. Marks cemetery in Niagara.
