Fonds consists of letters to the editor written by Davisson as publicist for the Canadian Cooperative Wheat Producers Ltd., 1935-1958, 1.24 m; personal and professional correspondence, 1908, 1914-1973, 0.1 m; press clippings memoranda and publications relating to world hunger and the world meat industry, 1915-1970, 0.13 m; biographical and miscellaneous material, 1925-1926, 0.2 m; annotated copy of Davisson's Pooling Wheat in Canada (1927) with related material and articles on world food industry and world hunger, 1927-1970, 0.5 m; scrapbooks containing reviews, editorials and articles, 1927-1928, 1932-1934, 1859-1960, 0.7 m.

Fonds consists of photgraphs illustrating the Alberta Wheat Pool staff picnic, members of the Canadian Grain Commission and personnel of Princess Patricia's Light Infantry 1926-1939.

Fonds also includes two watercolours entitled Fishing on a Lake by E. Trevor and Brockville, Ontario, at Sunset by Robert H. Lindsay.

Davisson, Walter P., 1885-1974 : Walter P. Davisson, publicist, was born in Dublin, Ireland and emigrated to Canada in 1910. After serving in France during the First World War, he worked successively in Saskatchewan as a shorthand writer and a newspaper editor. He managed the Publicity Department of the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool, 1924-1926, and in 1927 published Pooling Wheat in Canada, a book on western Canadian farm organizations. He was a reporter and editorial writer for the Toronto Globe, 1929-1934, and later a free-lance journalist. From 1935 to 1958 he acted as a publicist for the Canadian Co-operative Wheat Producers Limited, in which capacity he wrote many letters to the editor expressing the views of the wheat pools.
