Canadian Baltic and Immigration Aid Society : The Canadian Baltic Immigration Aid Society was organized in 1948 through the initiative of Graf Robert-Wendlin von Keyserlingk of Montreal to encourage the emigration of German Balts to Canada and aid them upon arrival. During its early years the organization was active primarily in providing information to new immigrants on conditions in Canada counselling them on problems they may experience, and helping them find employment.

The German Balts settled primarily in Montreal, Toronto, Kitchener-Waterloo, where clubs were organized. The local organizations provide German language courses for their young members, encourage the preservation of customs of German Balts and meet social and recreational needs of their members. Since the cessation of this immigration in the early 1960's, the C.B.I.A.S. has served primarily to co-ordinate the activities of local German Baltic organizations with the aim to nurture and maintain their history, traditions and cultural ties. It also represents them in contacts with national organizations of other groups and with the national government.
