The Service Records sub-series accounts for the largest number of records in the series. The Service Records sub-series spans early service records of RCMP members from 1873 to service records dated to 1999. The majority of records in this sub-series are service records from 1873 to 1904 that originate from the RCMP's predecessor, the North West Mounted Police. Service records of the Prince Albert Volunteers, a volunteer militia group that fought alongside the NWMP during the 1885 North-West Rebellion, are also found in this sub-series in volumes 3573-3577. These files contain information put together to extend the Military Bounty benefits to those Prince Albert Volunteers who served temporarily as scouts or members during the conflict. Numerous files for Officers, Regular Force members and Specials from this early period can be found in the Service Records sub-series. Post- 1904 the service records for Officers have survived while fewer Regular Force files were saved. Only exceptional Regular Force service files identified as historically important have been kept. For example, service records of men who served in the First World War or the Second World War have been retained and can be found in the Service Records sub-series.
The other sub-series in the Personnel series record activities related to RCMP personnel and are much smaller in scope than the Service Records sub-series. These sub-series are as follows: Indoctrination and Training Manuals, Monthly State Reports, Prince Albert Discharge Board, Investigations into Charges Against Members of the Force, Personnel Registers and Indexes, Sample Medical Examination Applicants, and Sample Recruiting and Enlistment Files.Information additionnelle :Source du titre :Title is based on the contents of the series.Historique de la conservation :Personnel records originated with nominal rolls, pay lists etc. received with records from the Office of the Commissioner, (See: MIKAN 134168, R196-46-9-E, RG18-B).Versements complémentaires :No further accruals are expected.Source :GouvernementAncien no de référence archivistique :RG18-G -
