Users should note that this series is not a comprehensive collection of all historical treaties, surrenders and agreements between the Crown and First Nations. Many such records are held elsewhere, both within and outside the custody of Library and Archives Canada.
Series also consists of records closely related to the signature of treaties between the Crown and First Nations, such as photographs and commemorative medals. For more details, please consult the linked accessions and/or lower-level descriptions.Information additionnelle :Source du titre :Title is based on the contents of the series.Note sur le classement :The records in this series have been transferred to National Archives custody from the headquarters offices of the Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development and its historical predecessors. The main body of treaty, surrender and agreement documents, those described in the Treaties and Surrenders sub-series, were arranged and numbered in a particular manner by the transferring agency.
