Accession consists of records created by the Textiles and Consumer Products Branch of the Department of Industry, Trade and Commerce (ITC). As an Industry Sector Branch (ISB), the branch reported consecutively to the ADM for Operations, the ADM for Industry Development, and the ADM for Industry and Commerce Development. The branch was responsible for research and analysis, providing guidance to the Canadian business community, and administering many ITC assistance programs within its industry.

Subjects consist of the studies produced by the branch, the administration of the Fashion/Canada Program, the development of Industry and Trade Notes, briefings for the Minister, and inquiries of the Textile and Clothing Board.
