Note générale :

Rivers and lakes were used to float heavier trees to sawmills. Large groups of workers laboured together to move the logs along,
standing on the floating, rolling los all the way. Loggers wore cork-soled boots to avoid slipping, though it hardly eliminated the
danger of drowning or being crushed by the huge logs.
Described by the MSTRSLID project.
