9 photographs : b&w.Langue du document :anglaisPortée et contenu :Fonds consists of four books of Secretary's reports of the Lady Stanley Institute Nurses Alumnae, 7 November 1944 to 1 February 1956, 2 October 1956 to 2 November 1965, 4 January 1966 to 3 October 1972 and 7 November 1972 to 12 July 1978, reporting on the Association's monthly meetings. Annual reports and some clippings are included in the books. Fonds also includes one file of miscellaneous lists, notes and clippings, n.d., 1967-1976.
The fonds also contains photographs depicting graduating classes of the Lady Stanley Institute for Trained Nurses, Ottawa, Ont., as well as photographic portraits of doctors on staff of the County of Carleton General Protestant Hospital, Ottawa, Ont.Provenance :Biographie/Histoire administrative :Lady Stanley Institute Nurses Alumnae Association : The Lady Stanley Institute for Trained Nurses, established in 1889 and completed in 1891, was the nurses' training school for the County of Carleton General Protestant Hospital. The Institute had graduates from 1894 to 1924. The Lady Stanley Institute Nurses Alumnae Association was established in 1903 and incorporated in 1901. Additional information regarding the Lady Stanley Institute and the Alumnae Association, may be found in a book by Madge Macbeth entitled the Lady Stanley Institute for Trained Nurses (Private edition, Ottawa, 1959).Information additionnelle :Note générale :The material was received in 1975 and 1978 from Miss Ethel G.
