The scenes were recorded by the Tilleson family during a visit to Goderich and Clintonville, Ontario during the winter of 1932. There are excellent shots of railway stations at all three centres, baggemen loading mail, railway station yards with giant snowplow which was used to clear blocked tracks, shivering people on platforms in bitter cold surrounded by what must be a record snowfall. Horse drawn baggage wagon at loading platform. Engine No. 6803 in station, pan across part of town of Stratford to railway station with ragin snow storm in background. Snow covered automobile parked at station, crates of chickens on CN Express platform, close up of Mrs. Tilleson shivering beside train, CNR engine shunting in and out of station. Downtown street of Stratford with snow piled high, horse drawn sleighs, man selling Christmas trees, man pulling child on sled, kids dragging home Christmas tree, and newsboy coming towards camera. Team of horses drawing sleigh through snowbound streets of Stratford. Horsedrawn vehicles and automobiles on snowbound streets, team hitched to cutter in front of courthouse. People on street, in front of stores, children sliding on tobaggan run, kids sliding with grownups, people riding horses along snowbound streets, man shovelling roof, various shots of snow covered parks etc. in city, bridges, canals, rivers. Good shots of people in town of Stratford coming out of homes etc. Engineer at window of Engine 6121. Station at Georgetown in winter. Good shots of 6121 in Toronto yard, huge crowds around engine, engine backing out, pan of Toronto skyline from station, downtown Toronto traffic as seen from window of Prince George Hotel. Excellent shots of street car, pedestrian and vehicular traffic in Toronto in winter. Cars parked along street, horse drawn snowplows, man driving cutter and horse along country road.
