Fonds consists of "Minutes of the proceedings of the Commissioners appointed under the sixth and seventh articles of the Treaty of Ghent, in execution of the sixth article", volume 1 (89 pages), 18 November 1816 to 18 June 1822, and volume 2 (92 pages), 22 June 1822 to 25 October 1827. These volumes are the Secretaries' drafts, exhibiting insertions and amendments made during creation of the text. Included are copies of some correspondence and accounts of the Commissioners, but not the full text of the commissions, oaths, certificates and other documents relating to the appointment and powers of the Commissioners. The final, formal text is found in Foreign Office 303, volume 29, with other records of the Commissioners.

Barclay, Anthony, 1792-1877 : Anthony Barclay (1792-1877) was the son of Thomas Barclay (1753-1830), a New York Loyalist who settled in Nova Scotia and participated in the Boundary Commission of 1796-1798, as well as serving as a Boundary Commissioner under the Treaty of Ghent, before taking up the post of British Consul at New York. Anthony himself, was a Commissioner under Articles 6 and 7 of the Treaty of Ghent, 1820-1827, in succession to John Ogilvy (d. 1819).

Transferred in 1988 from the Regional Collection, D.B. Weldon Library, University of Western Ontario, London, which had held the manuscripts since 1934.

Other records of the Commissioners under the 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th articles are found in the Ward Chipman papers (MG 23, D 1, volumes 31-60), the Johann Ludwig Tiarks papers (MG 24, H 64) and the Stephen Sewell papers (MG 24, B 169). These and Foreign Office 303 are available on microfilm.
