Detweiler's involvement with the Great Waterways Union of Canada and the Niagara Electric Power Committee, and to the erection of a cairn to his memory. These records are divided into four series: Great Waterways Union of Canada, 1909-1920; Niagara Electric Power, 1902-1906, 1918; printed material, 1893-1896, 1902-1918; and memorial to Daniel B. Detweiler, 1918-1969.Provenance :Biographie/Histoire administrative :Detweiler, Daniel B., 1860-1919 : Daniel Detweiler was a Kitchener, Ontario businessman and an advocate of hydro and waterways developments. Two of his major interests were the Western Ontario Hydro Power Association organized in 1902, and the Great Waterways Union of Canada, organized in 1912. Detweiler was the first president of the latter group.Information additionnelle :Note générale :Photographs of the ceremony for the unveiling of a memorial cairn to Daniel B. Detweiler are held by the Visual and Sound Archives. A blueprint of a power station for the Algoma Power Company is held by the Map Division.
