Robert Weaver of the CBC commissioned the interviews. This interview is of Sir Ernest MacMillan, who considers the question of whether the present age has a musical expression of its own, the lack of the virtuoso or all-round musician, the somewhat superficial education of today's musicians, the composer and performer as different personalities, and the mistake in teaching students merely as potential concert artists. He describes music as "dealing with the art of sound from different angles" and the discipline and training needed by choristers, his early life and training at St. Saviour's School in Eastbourne, England and the history of church music. <13mn 5s>Langue :EnglishRemarques :Détails de l'inventaire : -
