This is the third program in a 10-part half-hour series described in the broadcasts as a catalogue devoted to the exploration of the moving image in the last decade. This program features clips of the following productions: The complete four-minute video A MOSAIC FOR THE KALI YUGA, produced from 1984-1986 by Dan Reeves is shown first. Reeves is an independent video artist working out of Ithaca, New York. The program describes this video as a short reflection on the ever-increasing speed, fragmentation and chaos of life in the late twentieth century. This is followed by a two-minute excerpt of the 1980 film DIMINISHED by Vancouver film maker Richard Martin. Next is a five-minute excerpt of the 1987 videotape ANON, ANON by Robin Len. The video uses real time images, computer graphics and various other processing techniques. This is followed by part of the 1984 film ON LAND OVER WATER (SIX STORIES) by Ontario film maker Richard Kerr. The film is a collection of stories about life and death. There are excerpts from two stories THE SHOTGUN STORY and AT HER COTTAGE. This is followed by a computer animated production, MAGIC GLASSES, created by Toronto's Greenlight Productions Ltd., for Canadian Tire Corp. in 1986. The final production is a performance art production entitled UP TO SCRATCH, by Canadian artists Craig Condy-Berggold and Clive Robertson. A 3 1/2-minute excerpt is shown. The program describes the production as a college "celebrating the work of oppositional cultural groups against a backdrop of unemployment". <30mn>
