He talks about its purpose, uses and market, including the promotional possibilities it provides. At the same time, Mr. Taylor comments on its capacity to deceive about the real nature of the environment and surroundings. The early history of photography is reviewed with a look at technology, techniques, and, social commentary from the Victorian era, right up to the 1930s including some emphasis on individual photographers and their work.
