Map symbols, subjectivity and perception are analyzed. Maps used by North American Indians are looked at, as are those produced in the days of the antiquities and in the Middle Ages. Also, map language and meaning are delved into and map construction is referred to, with allusion to use of maps for propaganda purposes.
