This amateur film starts with views of the city of Saint John from the air; views of the park and traffic around the square; a plaque commemorating the landing of the United Empire Loyalists; and the Reversing Falls.~The rest of the film, as is stated in an intertitle, is "A motion picture diary of the celebration of Saint John's Anniversary and the Coronation". Shown is The Ten Mile Marathon Race, won by Joe Richards; a schools track meet, the Phalanx Coaster Derby; the Dr. Ballards Mutt Show; a parade of Cubs, Boy Scouts, Rangers, Brownies and Girl Guides; a Doll Carriage parade; a bicycle parade; and a parade of the Fire Department and its vehicles. Visitors from the French frigate L'Aventure are seen at a wreath-laying ceremony at the cenotaph and then at a formal dinner with Mayor Patterson, Lt. Gov. D.L. MacLaren where military medals are displayed. There is footage of the YWCA Teenagers' Coronation Ball; the June 2nd Tri-Service Church parade and march-past; the Royal Salute, with 21 guns, with the 3rd NB Regiment; and the Coronation Regatta. Children are seen playing in the pool at the Kiwanis Playground and a group of men are shown fighting in a ring. Further celebrations are shown at the Coronation Ball held at the Armouries and with young people dancing in the street. A parade of police officers representing both local, provincial and RCMP is lead by a police band. The Bale Military parade is shown, ending at the Loyalist Cemetary where troops are inspected and speeches made. Seen is footage of the Coronation Concert by the Saint John Symphony Orchestra. Footage includes a Shriners parade and convention. A final parade of military personnel, Silver Cross mothers and veterans is shown. The final scenes are of downtown Saint John at night, with movie marquis and neon lights and then a display of fireworks.
