The police work of RCMP Headquarters, of all Divisions across Canada, Marine Division and Air Division is documented. The Collection includes: recruiting, training, ceremonial, criminal investigation and crime detection, identification services, CPIC, traffic law enforcement and accident investigation, Northern Service with extensive coverage of the Arctic, State Visits, public safety and security, police service dogs, aircraft and patrol vessels, equitation, Musical Ride, the history of the Force, home life, and interviews with veterans. Training films produced by other companies and fictional films on the RCMP are included.
1. All unedited production elements and outtakes are considered RCMP productions. Non RCMP productions are to be cleared through the respective producer.

Cpl. F.S. Farrar used Sup. Henry Larsen's camera to film the voyages of the St. Roch and was posted to Headquarters Ottawa to make SCARLET AND GOLD and other early films. Cpl. Ike Taylor's films included CAREER IN SCARLET and THE MUSICAL RIDE. Skip Wheatby and Bob Novakoff were replaced by S/Sgt. Ed Burnell who was chief cameraman from 1965 to 1970. S/Sgt. Tony Wagstaff joined him in August 1965. Civilian members were Bill Giles and Earle Tooke. The RCMP Motion Picture Unit went to video production in 1977 as the Audio Visual Section.
