The index cards provide a cross reference to the page numbers and dates of the items indexed. For Annie Parkin's correspondence (primarily letters from her husband George Parkin) there is a subject index (held in vol. 139) and a nominal index (vols. 139-146). The nominal index is organized by year and, within each year, alphabetically by the name of the correspondent. It is filed in eight index card boxes: vol. 139 covers correspondence from 1886 to 1888; vol. 140 covers 1889 to 1892; vol. 141 covers 1892 to 1895; vol. 142 covers 1896 to 1901; vol. 143 covers 1901 to 1902; vol. 144 covers 1902 to 1908; vol. 145 covers 1908 to 1913; and vol. 146 covers 1914 to 1921. For the diaries of George Parkin, located in volumes 61 to 65, there is an nominal index in three volumes: vol. 146 holds surnames starting with A to D; vol. 147 holds D to M; and vol. 148 holds N to Z.Source :PrivéAncien no de référence archivistique :MG30-D44 -
