Commentary by Troyer, footage and interviews with citizens and a city official portray Amsterdam (The Netherlands) as a city of social unrest. Archival footage of 1966 riots triggered by the marriage of Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands to former German officer Claus von Amsberg; and excerpts of the film "Police Beating" made by Louis von Casterin; along with current footage of traffic jams and inadequate housing; illustrate some of the problems. In interview segments, Burgomaster Van Hall claims Amsterdam citizens object to everything and undermine the police force. The "provols" (provocateurs) cite their complaints and describe their proposals for a system that would reduce authoritarianism and police violence. <30mn>Langue :EnglishNo original :14797Détails de l'inventaire : -
