She speaks initially of early theatre in Alberta and the touring and stock companies which played there. Her own theatre training is also remembered. Next Mitchell describes Elizabeth Sterling Haynes and how the Banff School was created in 1933 and 1934. In 1936 drama was a credited class in Alberta high schools. Mitchell also describes the Sidedoor Playhouse in Calgary, and her "Workshop 14". Mitchell discusses the National Theatre School and compares university and technical training and provincial and federal attitudes to culture.
