He also describes some of his particular theories on Canadian theatre. According to Trueman, the Canada Council was forced, due to its initial small size to support only those in need. No new programs were created. He describes the Council's attitude to amateur versus professional theatre, to regionalism and to private sector support. Canada was reacting to the influx of U.S. culture, and Trueman describes the council's role within that context. He also discusses Canadian cultural self-conciousness, and the superimposition of culture upon Canada. The responsibilities and attitudes of a Council member are described. In conclusion, Canadian theatre buildings and playwrights are discussed and the Molson Foundation is described.Langue :EnglishRemarques :Détails de l'inventaire : -
