Accession consists of real property files created by the Departmental Legal Services Unit (DLSU) working for the Halifax office of Public Works and Government Services (PWGSC), and maintained by the Department of Justice, Atlantic Region Office in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The files are arranged according to the creator's file classification scheme.

The files relate primarily to the acquisition and the disposal of real properties or lands located in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Prince Edward Island. They also include some records documenting interdepartmental or interprovincial transfer of lands or properties. Although there is one file dating from 1965, the preponderant dates for most of the records are from the 1990s.
