Her training in Regina with teachers Emrys Jones and Mary Ellen Burgess is described. Her training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) and the Regents Park Open Air Theatre in London with director R. Atkin led to a five-year stay in England. Next Hyland describes her meeting with Sir Tyrone Guthrie and her decision to return to Canada and the Stratford Festival. The Crest Theatre and the Canadian Players are also discussed.
