McMaster's limited-edition giclée print, Truth to Power (2017), juxtaposes the contemporary reality of an Indigenous woman with the 1898 poem, Onondaga Madonna, by Duncan Campbell Scott. Scott was an important Canadian poet and a federal civil servant responsible in part for the administration of the residential school system. McMaster states, "In my image, Truth to Power presents an alternative outcome to the vision of residential schools. I stand in defiance to Duncan Campbell Scott's vision of solving problems through conformity and discipline."
