There's not many foods that can take you through the Christmas season as easily as eggs can. They can be served as appetizers, snack foods, for main courses or in desserts or beverages. Your guests will appreciate your thoughtfulness when you serve them tasty and nutritious hors-d'oeuvres, like Festive devilled eggs. Vary the filling by mixing the mashed eggs and mayonnaise with devilled ham and prepared mustard. Garnish with small bits of pimento and olives and form it into the shape of a small Christmas tree on the top of each egg. For casual get-togethers serve a zesty egg dip made with minced hard cooked eggs, crumbled bacon, chopped onion, mayonnaise and seasonings. This can be served with chips or crackers or with fresh vegetables such as carrots or celery sticks. Eggs won't let you down when it comes to the main dish. For a brunch, lunch or after-the-theatre get-together serve Quiche Lorraine. Eggs, cheese, cream and bacon are combined in this custard type pie. Christmas wouldn't be the same without frothy rich egg nog. Serve egg nogs warm or cold and with any flavoring you wish. If you do want to serve the egg nogs warm, heat the egg nog gently and then fold in whipped cream. <1mn 30s>
